Man” seems to be a train wreck since director Edgar Wright left the project, another potential Phase 3 film for the studio has found its leader behind the camera. According to Variety, “Dr. Strange” will be helmed by director Scott Derrickson. The director is most known in the supernatural/horror genre, with films such as “The Exorcism of Emily Rose” (2005), “The Day The Earth Stood Still” (2008), and “Sinister” (2012) to his credit. s choice and a deal should be struck shortly.” Now I’m not a fan of horror, so I can’t speak to the quality of the films in his filmography, but given tat Dr. Strange has both feet planted in the supernatural corner of the Marvel universe, at first glance this pairing seems like a good fit. I have very limited exposure to the character, that being the direct to video animated film released a few years ago. For those equally as unvamiliar with Doctor Stephen Strange as I am; “This film has been somewhat of a pet project for Marvel’s head honcho Kevin Feige for years, so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if “Dr. Strange” was announced as a Phase 3 film at San Diego Comic Con 2014.
