After a series premiere, the natural course of action is for the follow-up episode to dip in the ratings. Either this dip is minimal, and the series maintains most of its viewers, or it plummets, showing a general lack of interest in the series. The numbers are in for the second episode of “The Flash”, and audiences are clearly interested in the adventures of The Fastest Man Alive. “THE FLASH retained almost 90% of its record-setting Live + Same Day premiere ratings, holding 88% in total viewers, 81% in adults 18-34, and 89% of its adults 18-49 rating. THE FLASH ranked #2 in the hour last night in adults 18-34 (1.3/5), men 18-34 (1.5/6), and men 18-49 (2.1/7 – tie), and was #3 in the hour in both adults 18-49 (1.7/5) and in total viewers (4.27 million).” The CW has a heroic sized hit on their hands, and if these numbers continue, The Flash will be running to the rescue on TV for many years to come.
