Trailer For Episode 16 Of GOTHAM Teases The Joker!

By: Adam Basciano

Legends of The Dark Knight #50

Creator and executive producer of GOTHAM, Bruno Heller first indicated we’d get hints of The Joker.  He later refined his statements by indicating that we’d start to see the beginnings of The Joker’s story at the tail end of season one. We are well into the back half of the season.  Having just witnessed the two-part introduction of The Scarecrow, which were two of the best episodes by the way, when will The Joker begin to terrorize GOTHAM? Well according to the latest trailer, possibly the next episode. The episode is titled “The Blind Fortune Teller and is described as follows; ” Gordon takes Dr. Leslie Thompkins (guest star Morena Baccarin) to the circus, but the day turns quickly when the circus comes under attack. Then, Falcone enlists Butch Gilzean to help Penguin with the night club, while Fish Mooney is otherwise occupied. Also, Bruce Wayne schedules a meeting with the Wayne Enterprises board.” In the trailer. we see glimpses of the previous villains that we’ve seen on the series, followed by a foreshadowing tagline, which is followed by a young man in police custody, who gives a rather ominous look and a psychotic laugh. See it for yourselves…

The actor portraying the potential Joker, is 22-year-old Cameron Monaghan.  The actor has appeared in shows such as “Law & Order SVU”, “Shameless”, “NCIS” and “Fringe” In real life age, Cameron Monaghan is 10 years older than Bruce Wayne actor David Mazouz.  While I haven’t seen much of Cameron Monaghan’s work, I had chills when I heard the laugh. So will Cameron Monaghan play The Joker? You’ll have to tune into GOTHAM next week to find out. Same Bat time, same bat channel.
