DC Superheroes Unite In Arrow/Flash Spinoff Series!

By: Adam Basciano

DC Superhero Team Up

The more I see of Brandon Routh as The Atom on Arrow, the more I want him to get his own spinoff TV series. It appears I’ll be getting my wish, but he won’t be alone. “The untitled project, now in development, is described as a superhero team-up show.Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller and Victor Garber will reprise their popular DC Comics characters  — Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom (Routh), Flash villain Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Miller), and Flash‘s Dr. Martin Stein (Garber). Because her Arrow character Sara Lance was killed off, with her sister Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) taking over as the Black Canary, it is unclear whether Caity Lotz will play the same or new superhero.” My first thought….AWESOME! The more superhero television the better.  My other thought… Wait? What? I’m intrigued by the inclusion of Caity Lotz.  As the quote suggests, she could play a new superhero. Or, her version of Canary could return, possibly via the Lazarus Pit. Also, the inclusion of Victor Garber’s Martin Stein without mention of the other half of Firestorm played by Robbie Amell is mystifying. Regarding other superheroes, the new project will include three major DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a TV series. Major DC characters who have never appeared on TV? Hmmm… Who could that be? Let the speculation begin…

  1. My guess – at some point Jason Rusch will become the other part of the firestorm matrix on Flash. Maybe Martin Stein will merge with someone else, but my guess is he will be a mentor of sorts. Although I would like to see firestorm join up as well. Justice league maybe? Probably not, but with 2 Flashes you never know. I hope we don’t have to deal with 2 black canaries within the same universe though, it would be cool if she played someone like Dove though…
