DC Comics is changing direction following their “Convergence” event. That directional change will also bring costume changes to DC Comics “Holy Trinity” of characters. Batman will be getting a suit of Armor that would make Tony Stark jealous. This is not the first time we’ve seen Batman armor up, but it’s pretty different from anything we’ve seen before. The only thing I’m not too keen on is the ears/antennae. They look like bunny ears, And if we’re going to have bunnies in comics, Id rather them be Playboy Bunnies. Superman is going back to his Casual Friday look from when The New 52 started. The T-shirt and jeans are back, with a little Fleischer cartoons inspiration to the colour scheme of the Superman \S/ logo. Last, but not least, Wonder Woman continues to embrace her inner warrior by adding some armored plating in certain in areas and keeping herself completely covered.
I know there will be many fans crying foul and screaming blasphemy over these changes, but I won’t be one of them. I for one want to see what, if any story lines resulting from “Convergence” led to these changes. I need more context before I can fully judge. Also how many costume changes have we seen these characters go through, before ultimately reverting back to their traditional looks? Many. I’m going to take the changes in stride, and see where it all leads starting in June.
