Supergirl may not be able to show us Superman, but the television show will be bringing other DC Comics heroes & villains to the small screen. “Iddo Goldberg (Salem, Peaky Blinders) has been cast for the role of “Dr. T.O. Morrow (aka Red Tornado)” on CBS’s Supergirl, ComicBook.com has learned exclusively. According to Warner Bros. Television, Red Tornado is the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow for the U.S. Army as the ultimate superweapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City — including the people Supergirl cares about most.” Typical Dr. T.O. Morrow is only the creator of Red Tornado, but the show seems to want to make them one and the same. I’m fine with live action media taking liberties with the source material, as long as the spirit of the character remains in tact. Red Tornado is an awesome character, and I’m excited for his live action debut.
Meanwhile, at Marvel, their next big film will be Captain America: Civil War. This film will feature the highly anticipated debut of Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. While the film will be loosely based on the graphic novel of the same name, Spider-Man will not wear the Iron – Spider armor featured in the comic books. “Instead Tony Stark will be the one responsible for creating Spidey’s web shooters. When we first meet young Spider-Man, Peter Parker will be a hero using only things a teenager has access to while Stark has the capability of making more “hero ready” suits (he has a line about making the Avengers “look cool” in Age of Ultron).” I doubt it will be too long before we get our first look at our new Spider-Man.
