Supergirl debuts in October, and will introduce Lois Lane’s sister Lucy on the show. Another one of Lois’ family members will be joining the fold. “When DC Comics character General Sam Lane makes his debut on Supergirl, he’ll be portrayed by an actor who has plenty of experience playing military men, as IGN can exclusively reveal that Glenn Morshower has been cast in the recurring role on CBS’s new fall series.” Glenn Morshower, as the quote implies, has played a military man of some sort in three of Michael Bay’s Transformers films, X-Men: First Class, and 24. He’s actually quite perfect for the role, but will definitely bring a different flavor to the part than Michael Ironside, who played the role on Smallville.
Meanwhile, the Marvel/Netflix series Luke Cage has added 3 members to its cast. “Sons Of Anarchy standout Theo Rossi has been cast as a regular opposite Mike Colter and Alfre Woodard in the third series from Marvel’s four-series package for Netflix. Additionally, I’ve learned that Rosario Dawson will reprise her Daredevil role as Claire Temple in Luke Cage. Meanwhile “Simone Missick has landed the younger female lead opposite Mike Colter, Alfre Woodard and Theo Rossi in the third series in Marvel’s four-series package for Netflix. She will play what is listed on the breakdown as Missy, a woman with a strong sense of justice. I hear the actual character is Marvel’s Misty Knight, a former NYPD officer who gets a new bionic arm by Tony Stark after losing hers in the line of duty. She eventually launches a detective agency, helping Cage.”
