Seth Grahame-Smith Set To Write + Direct The Flash!

Ezra-Flash

At one time, the writers and directors of The LEGO Movie were on board writing a treatment for The Flash movie set in the DC Extended Universe, starring Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. However, they left the project to go write and direct a Han Solo spinoff Star Wars movies. Warner Brothers has acted rather quickly to fill the void in the speed force. ” Seth Grahame-Smith is in negotiations to direct and write The Flash, Warner Bros.’ comic book movie based on the iconic DC Entertainment super hero, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.”  The writer has written the novels Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  He is currently writing the spinoff LEGO Batman movie for the studio. This would be Seth Grahame-Smith’s first time directing a film. Some may be worried about this, because of his lack of experience directing, let alone lack of experience directing a big budget film full of visual effects. But lets remember, Tim Burton had only directed Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure before directing Beetlejuice. Christopher Nolan had only done Insomnia and The Following before directing Batman Begins. I’m not saying that Seth-Grahame-Smith is the next Tim Burton or Christopher Nolan, but if you surround him with talented VFX team, it can be done. Also, he has DC Extended Universe Producer Zack Snyder over-seeing things. I’m excited that a new talent is getting a chance to work in big budget film making. The Flash is scheduled for March 3, 2018.
