The CW teamed up with Warner Brothers & DC Films to present a half hour special titled The Dawn of the Justice League. The special had Geoff Johns and Kevin Smith giving sneak peeks into the first 3 upcoming films in the DC line up. This of course included, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman. The Batman V Superman portion featured more interviews with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Zack Snyder. With Wonder Woman, we got interviews with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, intercut with clips of Wonder Woman & Steve Trevor on horse back, Wonder Woman fighting a gang of World War 1 era soldiers, and taking them down with ease. We see Wonder Woman in her Diana Prince guise first travelling to “man’s world.” The footage was brief and beautiful, and had the epic feel and scale appropriate for Wonder Woman. The brand new Suicide Squad trailer, was simply fantastic. Setting the trailer to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, was a perfect marriage between content and music. Also, Queen beats Blue Suede, all day every day. The trailer definitely gives you the impression that this is definitely a Harley Quinn and Joker centered story. You can see that we are definitely getting the origin of Harley Quinn in some way shape or form here. Speaking of Harley and Joker, both look like all kinds of crazy, The spirit and essence of the comic books are definitely present. We also get to hear more of Margot Robbie’s Harley voice. It’s definitely more pronounced then the comic con footage, but different enough that Margot is putting her own spin on the character. I’m going to call it now, Jared Leto’s Joker will be even crazier than Heath Ledger’s. That scene with him surrounded by the knifes was creepy as hell! Even though the film will likely focus on DC’s craziest couple, the trailer does a good job of highlighting Will Smith’s Deadshot & Rick Flagg. With Enchantress being the main villain, I think Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, and El Diablo will get the least amount of screen time. Suicide Squad looks like it’ll be great, and Wonder Woman teases something quite special! The Dawn of The Justice League is 65 days away! Bring on March 25!
